Welcome to our second issue of Arkansas Style and Tech Reader! We are forging ahead with more cool stuff! Thanks for being patient! This issue features an abundance of love for Arkansas food. Myself, along with TJ Deeter, and Derek Brooks, present three articles where we each do three reviews of food available in Arkansas. In addition to this you get the chance to meet local fashionista Danielle Sain, and learn about her unique approach to fashion. This issue also features an intense piece by Kesha Lagniappe, where she exposes the hardships of her life that Prince helped her to get through, and how his loss crushed her. Although this is a big issue featuring a lot of people and stuff that is local to Arkansas, it also features one interview by internationally acclaimed underground musician, fashion designer, and visual artist, Travis Egedy, AKA Pictureplane.

Travis Egedy makes music that is entirely original, his fashion has been influential and copied by several other artists. Also he does really awesome art shows and installations. His work combines pop art, street art, DIY culture, astrology, and conspiracy into a wholly new thing. He hails from Brooklyn, NY, but he is more at home on the road opening for a lot of really cool bands you probably never heard of. We caught up with him to find out more about his style and technology.

TJ is a guy who has done a lot to promote the arts in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is a devoted school teacher with a background that includes starting a hip-hop after school program, starting a magazine, starting a popular dance music event series, hosting a radio show, and the list goes on and on. He is a generally creative and encouraging guy who also has no problem giving an honest critique. He has a mind that is always in creative mode. In this article he kicks off our series about food in Arkansas.

Derek is a regular contributer to S&T, and a member of the 4817 Crew, who are responsible for The 4817 Show on KABF 88.3FM every Saturday from 7-10PM. Last issue he kicked off his series on retro video games. He will return with that series in the future, but we pulled him away to discuss his own unique take on three ways he prefers to go grab a bite to eat in Arkansas.

I step in to round out the food series with a few spots I like to go to with my wife for special occasions or when we just want to treat ourselves. I focused on the food itself. TJ focused on regions with great scenery, and Derek focused on a combination of the food and the locations. We all show you some meals we enjoy having when we want to get out of the house.

Co-editor Trey Wilbourn steps in to interview up-an-coming local fashionista, stylist, and jewelry designer. This is a cool interview where we get to see a unique and thought provoking perspective on style, and fashion. But she also goes deeper to tell us about how her style choices have brought about degrees of discrimination and challenging situations. Check this one out for sure!

Kesha is a local artist who never tires in her pursuit of visual art and the awareness it can bring out. She has done countless artworks that are richly infused with purpose that often speak on the plight of women and minorities. Her work is truly wonderful. On the day Prince died, and the days following, she posted to social media one of the most moving pieces where she explains in detail how Prince's music has changed her life, and the impact his passing had on her personally. If you don't understand why we as a culture morn the loss of celebrities, take a second to read what Kesha has been through, and I think you will start to understand.
